In the afternoon of October 10, the symposium on the great significance of President Xi Jinping's important speech at the celebration of the 70th Anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, jointly hosted by the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce in Thailand, Tio Chew Association in Thailand and other overseas Chinese associations, was held at Guanghua Hall of the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce in Thailand. Chinese Ambassador to Thailand, Lyu Jian attended and addressed the event. More than 100 representatives from overseas Chinese associations in Thailand attended the event, including Chinese General Chamber of Commerce in Thailand, Tio Chew Association in Thailand, Thailand-China Culture and Education Foundation, the Federation of Chinese Clans in Thailand, the Alumni Association of Chinese Students in Thailand, the Young Entrepreneurs Association, the Chinese Youth Chamber of Commerce, the Thailand-China Friendship Foundation, and the Thai Chinese Federation in Thailand.
Ambassador Lyu Jian pointed out that President Xi's speech is strategically situated, concise and comprehensive. It is conclusive, confident, and promising. In his speech, President Xi proposed 'three must be adhered to' and 'one must be kept forever' and highly summed up China's 70-year development experience, pointing out the direction of future efforts to the communist party of China, the People's Liberation Army and the Chinese people of all ethnic groups. President Xi's speech is sonorous and full of pride, which will surely inspire hundreds of millions of Chinese people to continue to strive for the realization of the Chinese dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
In combination with the important directive concept of President Xi's speech concerning Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, Ambassador Lyu Jian elaborated on the latest developments of the situation in Hong Kong and the position of the Chinese government, fully applauded the Thai government, the overseas Chinese associations, the business sectors and friends from all walks of life in Thailand, for their active voice and their willingness to uphold justice on the Hong Kong issue. Ambassador Lyu firmly believed that with the joint efforts of all parties, Hong Kong will surely restore order, stability and prosperity.
Ambassador Lyu Jian briefly introduced the bilateral relations between China and Thailand, and hoped that the overseas Chinese in Thailand would continue to play a bridging role in promoting the 'Belt and Road' construction and be envoys for exchanges and cooperation in various fields between China and Thailand; continue to carry on and disseminate Chinese culture; to stand firmly and become an important force in Thailand to safeguard China's sovereignty and territorial integrity, especially when faced with major issues concerning national interests, such as those involving Hong Kong and Taiwan. At last, Ambassador Lyu Jian encouraged the overseas Chinese to think and work together to make greater contributions to the building of a new type of state relations between China and Thailand, the construction of a community of shared future for mankind and the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
Mr.Jitti Tangsithipakdee, Dr.Sangchai Sotthavarakul, and other leaders of the overseas Chinese associations delivered speeches respectively. They said that President Xi Jinping's important speech was inspiring and encouraging, making the overseas Chinese excited and proud, and inspiring the confidence and determination within them to fight for the dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
