Thai Prime Minister Prayut Sent Letters of Condolences to Chinese Leaders on Capsizing of Tourist Boats in Phuket

On July 8, H.E. General Prayut Chan-o-cha, Prime Minister of Thailand, sent letters to President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Li Keqiang to express deep condolences to the victims of the capsizing of tourist boats in Phuket and heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved families and those injured. Prime Minister Prayut said that the government and all relevant departments in Thailand attach utmost importance to addressing this incident. Emergency assistance and all appropriate arrangements have been promptly provided to those affected. A search and rescue command center was immediately set up. Search and rescue teams have been actively mobilized, and full investigation into the incident has been undertaken. Thailand will continue its utmost efforts to search for those still missing and render necessary assistance and support to all those affected persons and families. The Royal Thai government is determined to do its best to prevent recurrence of similar incident.

On the same day, H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Foreign Minister of Thailand, also sent a message of condolences to Mr. Wang Yi, State Councilor and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China.
