First Vice President of Thai National Legislative Assembly Surachai and Thailand-China Parliamentary Friendship Group Expressed Condolences to Chinese Embassy on Capsizing of Tourist Boats in Phuket

On July 18, Ambassador Lyu Jian met, at the Embassy, with Sathit Charnchaokul, Chairman of the Thailand-China Parliamentary Friendship Group of the National Legislative Assembly of Thailand. Sathit said that the purpose of the visit was to hand over the letter of condolences from Surachai, First Vice President of the National Legislative Assembly of Thailand, to Ambassador Lyu Jian on the capsizing of tourist boats in Phuket. Vice president Surachai and the Thailand-China Parliamentary Friendship Group were deeply saddened by the incident and would like to express sympathy and condolences to the victims and do their best to console the bereaved families.

Ambassador Lyu Jian thanked Vice President Surachai and the Thailand-China Parliamentary Friendship Group. He said that China and Thailand have a deep foundation of friendship. It is believed that the two sides could properly deal with the incident and maintain the healthy development of the bilateral relations and the friendly feelings between the two peoples.
