On April 2, the World New Energy Vehicle Congress 2026 was successfully held in Bangkok. Mr. Wan Gang, President of the China Association of Science and Technology, and Mr. Zhang Jianwei, Chinese Ambassador to Thailand, attended and delivered speeches. Professor Anek Laothamatas, former Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, officials from the Ministry of Industry, the Ministry of Transport, and the Board of Investment, along with over 120 industry representatives, participated in the conference.

Ambassador Zhang stated that China's 15th Five-Year Plan has injected valuable stability into the region's political and economic development, and that China-Thailand cooperation in new energy vehicles is driving the development of Thailand's new energy vehicle industry. He expressed hope that both sides would strengthen policy alignment, enhance local integration, jointly build a green system, and propel the region's new energy vehicle industry towards a stable, resilient, and sustainable future.

Professor Anek Laothamatas, former Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, stated that Thailand has a strong industrial foundation and sound policy support, and hopes to strengthen technological exchange and industrial cooperation with China in the field of new energy vehicles for mutually beneficial development.
