On April 10, 2026, Ambassador Zhang Jianweimet with Thai youth, with approximately 170 faculty and student representatives from Chulalongkorn University and Thammasat University

Ambassador Zhang introduced the fruitful achievements of China-Thailand friendly cooperation, especially in cultural exchanges. He noted that 2026 marks the start of China's 15th Five-Year Plan, and China's development is characterized by both quantitative growth and qualitative improvement, with  emphasis of promoting exports and expanding domestic demand, and advancing technological innovation and consumption upgrading in tandem, which will bring broad opportunities to Thailand and the world. The sentiment of "China and Thailand are as close as one family" has taken root in the hearts of young people in both countries.He hoped that the younger generation would make their contributions to carrying forward the friendship between China and Thailand. Ambassador Zhang also answered questions on the Belt and Road Initiative and other pragmatic cooperation between China and Thailand.

The Thai representatives expressed their sincere admiration for China's development achievements, stating that promoting friendly cooperation between China and Thailand is both the opportunity and responsibility for the younger Thai generation, and that they are willing to contribute to enhancing the relationship as being as close as one family.
