On April 16, Ambassador Zhang Jianwei met Lieutenant General Adul Boonthamcharoen, Thailand's new Minister of Defence. Major General Zhang Linhong, the Military Attaché, was also present.

Ambassador Zhang stated that during King Vajiralongkorn's state visit to China last November, the two heads of state jointly guided China-Thailand relations to a new level, pointing the way for building a more stable, prosperous, and sustainable China-Thailand community with a shared future. Military relations between China and Thailand are an important component of bilateral relations. In recent years, high-level exchanges between the two militaries have deepened, mechanisms have been increasingly improved, military trade cooperation has progressed steadily, and joint exercises and training have flourished, making positive contributions for regional peace and stability.

Lieutenant General Adul Bunthamcharoen, Minister of Defence, highly commended the development of relations between two countries and militaries as well as China's great achievements in defense modernization and armed forces. Thailand expressed its commitment to further strengthening cooperation and exchanges with China in the military field. Both sides also exchanged views on regional issues and others.
