The Chinese Embassy in Thailand holds a celebration for HRH Princess Sirindhorn for her being awarded the "Medal of friendship"

On December 1, the Chinese Embassy in Thailand held a grand celebration for HRH Princess Sirindhorn for her being awarded the "Medal of friendship". HRH Princess Sirindhorn visited the Embassy. Around 120 guests attended the meeting, including Privy Councilor, Palakorn Suwanarat, President of the National Legislative Assembly, Pornpetch Wichitcholchai, Foreign Minister, Don Pramudwinai and his wife, Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, Suvit Maesincee, Minister of Culture, Itthiphol Kunplome and his wife, Minister of Education, Nataphol Teepsuwan, Chairman of the Thailand-China Parliamentary Friendship Group, Navin Damrigan, as well as other dignitaries, close and new friends of HRH Princess Sirindhorn and friends from all walks of life.

   
In his speech, Ambassador Lyu Jian extended warm congratulations and paid tribute to HRH Princess Sirindhorn for her being awarded the "Medal of friendship", and applauded the the Princess for her decades- long effort in studying and promoting Chinese culture, promoting pragmatic cooperation between China and Thailand, and keeping the people of both countries in mind, which contributed tremendously in strengthening friendship between China and Thailand. Ambassador Lyu said that the award of the "Medal of friendship" is an important reflection of the continuous improvement of the kinship between China and Thailand in the new era. He called on friends from all walks of life to contribute and shape the friendship between China and Thailand in the new era, and jointly promote the of the friendship between China and Thailand to last for thousands of years and create new glories together.

   
HRH Princess Sirindhorn said that she was very pleased to visit the Embassy again, and thanked the Embassy for holding the celebration. She was honored to witness and personally participate in the great historical process of the development of China-Thailand friendship, and will continue to work hard for the consolidation and deepening of China-Thailand friendship. HRH the princess presented the "Medal of friendship" to guests, and Ambassador Lyu introduced the design concept of the medal in detail. He pointed out that the medal symbolized the solidarity and the long-lasting friendship between Chinese people and people of other countries, and was an expression of the good wishes of common prosperity and development of all countries in the world.

   
Accompanied by Ambassador Lyu Jian and wife, HRH the Princess visited the Photo Exhibition of "Princess and China", and watched the theme video made by the Chinese Embassy in Thailand. The chorus composed of diplomats of the Embassy sang "Ode to the Princess" and "the Sky Shines on China" in Thai and Chinese, which moved the Chinese and Thai guests to tears. Chinese and Thai artists jointly presented wonderful performances such as ensemble, dance, solo and Chinese allegro to express congratulations and blessings to HRH the Princess, who from time to time shot wonderful moments with her mobile phone. HRH the princess hand-painted a cartoon golden mouse to give to the Embassy as gift, and Ambassador Lyu presented to her a sketch painting of HRH the Princess by a Chinese artist.

   
Guests had a warm exchange with HRH the Princess and introduced their work, study and life to the princess. They focused their attention on the Photo exhibition and short theme video. A comprehensive understanding of the the indissoluble bond between the Princess and China was formed from different angles, such as the princess experience in studying in Peking University, learning Chinese culture, promoting China-Thailand exchanges and cooperation, and donating to disaster-stricken areas in China, and heart-felt affection from the Chinese people was flowing in the air from the greeting sent by famous persons such as, Han Meilin, Wang Meng, the princess's teachers, students from a primary school donated by the princess, and the scientists of "China-Thailand Sirindhorn Antarctic Joint Laboratory". Precious historical pictures brought back people's beautiful memories and struck a strong chord among the audience. All guests were deeply moved by HRH the Princess's efforts in promoting the friendship between China and Thailand, were very proud of the heart-to-heart friendship between the Chinese and Thai people, and wished a better tomorrow for China-Thailand relations.
