On November 24, Ambassador Zhang Jianwei held a media briefing on H.M. King Maha Vajiralongkorn's visit to China.

Ambassador Zhang noted that the two heads of state had in-depth exchanges on multiple occasions, including at the welcome ceremony, official meeting and welcome banquet, in a cordial and friendly atmosphere. "China and Thailand are as close as one family" was a frequently-used phrase in their conversations. 

President Xi Jinping noted that the Thai Royal Family has long-standing ties with China and spoke highly of its important contribution to growing China-Thailand friendship. President Xi Jinping said the two sides need to visit each other often as families do and welcomed His Majesty the King and other members of the Royal Family to visit China more often. King Maha Vajiralongkorn congratulated China on its great achievement in economic and social development, hailed the two countries for their "close kinship", and said he was truly delighted and proud of the continuous growth of China-Thailand relations.

The close friendship and profound mutual trust between the two heads of state will make the traditional "China and Thailand are as close as one family" ever more enduring.
