On January 21, Ambassador Zhang Jianwei met with Collier-Smith, UNDP Resident Representative in Thailand.

Ambassador Zhang emphasized that China consistently practices genuine multilateralism, firmly upholds the international system with the United Nations at its core, defends the UN Charter and the basic norms of international relations, and safeguards the status and authority of the United Nations. China appreciates the positive role played by the UNDP in promoting regional development and social progress and is willing to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with the UNDP. Ambassador Zhang also introduced China's poverty reduction practices and experiences.

Collier-Smith spoke highly of the long-standing friendly cooperation between China and the United Nations Development Programme, and appreciated China's firm support for multilateralism and the UN's cause. She expressed her admiration for China's establishment of the Global Women's Capacity Building Center, and looked forward to strengthening cooperation with China to jointly contribute to regional sustainable development.
