On December 8, Ambassador Zhang Jianwei attended the opening ceremony of the China-Thailand Quantum Technology Symposium. Prof. Dr. Supachai Patumnakul, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, Prof. Dr. Wilert Phuriwat, President of Chulalongkorn University, Prof. Zhou Congzhao, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the University of Science and Technology of China and representatives from the science and technology and business sectors of China and Thailand were also present .

Ambassador Zhang Jianwei pointed out that strengthening China-Thailand cooperation in quantum technology is an important measure to implement the consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries and enrich the content of the China-Thailand comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership. China is willing to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with Thailand within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative to jointly promote the development of quantum technology and industry, and better benefit the people of both countries.

Prof. Dr. Supachai Patumnakul, Permanent Secretary stated that the Thai-Chinese cooperation in quantum technology aligns with Thailand's strategy of innovation-driven development and building a knowledge-based economy. Thailand will fully support the implementation of this cooperation and continuously strengthen close cooperation between the two countries in the field of science and technology.

The University of Science and Technology of China and Chulalongkorn University signed a memorandum of understanding on quantum cooperation during the meeting.
