On January 15, Ambassador Zhang Jianwei held a symposium with Thai youth, with about 80 young people from the Faculty of Political Science at Chulalongkorn University and King Prajadhipok Institute Student Foundation for Society participating.

Ambassador Zhang stated that China and Thailand have enjoyed a thousand-year-old friendship, with a profound traditional bond. King Vajiralongkorn's historic visit to China was a complete success, and the two heads of state outlined a grand blueprint for the development of bilateral relations. The foundation of China-Thailand friendship lies in the people, and its future lies in the youth. He expressed hope that the younger generation would take up the baton of continuing China-Thailand friendship and contribute their youthful energy to the generational inheritance of the "China-Thailand are one family" spirit and the upgrading of China-Thailand relations. Ambassador Zhang also answered questions on topics such as China's foreign policy and youth exchanges.

The youth representatives, drawing on their learning experiences and visits to China, expressed their admiration for China's development achievements. They thanked the embassy for enriching their understanding and reflection on China, China-Thailand relations, and the mission of youth through this event, and expressed their willingness to dedicate themselves to the cause of China-Thailand friendship and promote the passing down of the special friendship of "China and Thailand are one family" from generation to generation.
