On July 13, Ambassador Zhang Jianwei attended the opening ceremony of the 2026 International Conference on Nuclear Science and Technology in Bangkok. Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn also attended the conference. Professor Dr. Yotsanun Wongsawat, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, and Dr. Najat Mokhtar, Deputy Director-General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), also participated in the ceremony.

Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn presented the 2026 Nuclear Scientist Award and the Young Nuclear Scientist Award to Du Yingchao, Associate Professor of the Department of Engineering Physics at Tsinghua University, and Wang Zhipeng, Associate Researcher at the Institute of Nuclear and New Energy Technology at Tsinghua University.

Ambassador Zhang congratulated the two award winners and encouraged them to make greater contributions to promoting the development of nuclear science and technology and bilateral cooperation between China and Thailand.
